Please confirm the hole size of your guitar's knob

SOUND-G replacement tuning machine knobs are designed to fit on Grover, Schaller and Gotoh tuning machines.

In order to do this, we have two kinds of hole sizes, medium (M) and large (L)

We confirmed the size with the main products of each maker, but there are variations within their product lines as well that have occurred over their history.
In order to ensure the correct fit, please measure the size of the pin by the following method.

          How to Measure Pin Size

Please use a vernier caliper in order to get a precise measurement.

PLEASE MAKE SURE to release string tension BEFORE you unscrew you old tuner knob to check for sizing.

Releasing the string tension also releases tension on the vertical tuner post, therefore keeping the tuner intact.

If this is not done, on some tuners, there is a chance that the tuner gears will back out of the tuner itself, therefore creating the potential for you to lose any tuner post washers that may be on your vertical tuner post.

          1. Take out the screws:

Take out the screws of knobs with a philips or flat head screw driver.

          2. Detach the knobs from guitar:

Please pay attention to the washers, they come off easily.
(Screws are included in your tuner kit, but you need to maintain existing washers that are with the guitar.)

          3. Measure a diameter of the pin with a vernier caliper:

Measure it matching vernier caliper with circumference of the pin.

          4. Measure the length between planes with a vernier caliper:

Measure the planes of the pin with a vernier caliper.

          5. Confirm the size:

Size M fits diameter size pins in a range of 3.9mm (0.154") from 3.7mm (0.146") and length between planes of the pin in the ranges of 3.5mm (0.138") from 3.3mm (0.13").

Size L fits diameter size pins in the range of 4.2mm (0.165") from 4.0mm (0.157") and length between planes of the pin in the ranges of 3.7mm (0.146") from 3.5mm (0.138").

If the diameter of the pin is larger than 4.2mm (0.165") or is smaller than 3.7mm (0.146"), you will need a special size, which we can accommodate for in our production process Simply send us an e-mail or call to let us know.
